Hearts of Gold

In days of old, when life was simple and bright,

Health and nature were the treasures in sight.

Animals, farms and crops were the wealth they'd share,

A family's joy was not measured by money to spare.

They lived with love, and relationships so true,

Their bonds were strong, their hearts full of kindness anew.

No need for cash, just the warmth of a loving hand,

Together they'd thrive, in a world so grand.

But times have changed, and wealth has a new face,

Shares, bonds and gold, the measures of a modern pace.

No family ties, no love, just the value of gold,

Money is king, and hearts are bought and sold.

In this new world, where riches rule the day,

People are judged by the wealth they display.

Treated with respect if you're rich and grand,

But if you're poor, you're just a forgotten hand.

Oh, for the days when love was the greatest wealth,

When hearts were pure, and kindness was the greatest stealth.

Now gold is prized, and hearts are made of stone,

In this world of wealth, love is overthrown.

Let us remember the days of old,

When love and kindness were the treasures to behold.

For in the end, it's not gold that makes us rich,

But the love we share, and the hearts that we enrich.
