FAREWELL

Every time I see your face,

I smile and feel a warm embrace.

You lift my heart, you chase the gray,

With every word, with every day.


I used to try so hard to please,

To hide my fears, to bend my knees.

But now I know, both far and near,

I’m truly me—my path is clear.


Alone, I rise, I shine, I grow,

With you or not, my heart still glows.

I turn and learn, I find my way,

Embracing love—come what may.


You may not do what makes me glad,

But that’s okay—I’m not so sad.

For now I know what matters most:

The love I give, not love I boast.


I’ll walk ahead with open hands,

No more waiting for your plans.

Each day is bright, the world is wide,

New hope and dreams live deep inside.


I’ll hear your voice, recall your face,

But now I’m in a lighter place.

It’s better now to be alone,

Than lost and never truly known.


I’ll find myself, I’ll truly see

A love that’s always meant for me.

Until then, I’ll laugh, I’ll play,

And let my heart lead the way.
