Relationship

We walk together, yet hide our pain,

Silent hearts caught in a fragile chain.

We never whisper what we truly feel,

We mask the wounds time won’t let heal.

We need warmth, a gentle word,

Yet keep it quiet, left unheard.

Sometimes voices sharp make us stray,

Still hoping love will find its way.

We take the pieces as they fall,

Never asking, afraid to call.

We fear to voice the needs inside,

So bonds grow weak as silence hides.

And when the cracks have spread too far,

We blame the love for what we are.

But deeper truths remain unknown

We never voiced, we stood alone.

If only hearts would speak up true,

Say, “I need more of me and you.”

Perhaps the fire would still remain,

And love would bloom instead of pain.
